Planning Stage of the Writing Process
The planning stage of the writing process encompasses everything you do before you actually begin to write. In planning, you:
- Analyze the writing task,
- Choose a subject,
- Focus on a topic,
- Generate ideas and collect information,
- Formulate a thesis statement,
- Determine your purpose,
- Analyze your audience, and
- Make an outline.
